Joey PARK, Governmental Affairs Consultant
Joey Park began his professional career more than 30 years ago at the Comptroller of Public Accounts as an assistant to the late Bob Bullock. Working personally on a day-to-day basis with one of our states most dynamic state officials helped develop a work ethic and a commitment to see that things get done, that still shows to this day. He worked on his statewide campaign for Lt. Governor as a travel aide insuring that the candidate’s personal and professional needs were met no matter where the plane landed. Park was one of the first of Bullock’s staff to transfer to the Texas Senate after the election to insure a smooth transition. From 1990 to 1994 worked in the Texas Senate as an aid to the Lt. Governor assisting him with floor duties and general Senate decorum.
Beginning in 1994 Park served as the Government Affairs Director for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. In this position Park was responsible for all legislative matters that affected the department including the appropriations process. Park was the first point of contact between the legislature and TPWD. He developed each session’s legislative package of bills and worked to see that each one was passed. In 2001 Park guided TPWD successfully through the Sunset process.
The last 12 years Park has run a successful lobby and consulting practice in Austin. His clients include aggregate, quarry and paving businesses, conservation, aerospace, private property, energy and other hunting and fishing related groups. He also has successfully represented clients in agriculture, telicom, local municipalities, accounting, health care and real estate.
