McAllen,Texas - Texas Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick recently toured the Texas-Mexico border for an accountability update of his number one priority - border security.  This was Patrick's first chance to see firsthand the benefits of Texas' unprecedented $800 million border security initiative approved by the Texas Senate during the 84th legislative session.

STPRA Chairman of the Board, C. Berdon Lawrence,
is the Harvey Weil Sportsman Conservationist of the Year

The Rotary Club of Corpus Christi has named C. Berdon Lawrence of Houston as the 2016 Harvey Weil Sportsman Conservationist of the Year for his lifelong dedication to marine and wildlife conservation.

This year's Harvey Weil Professional Conservationist honor goes to renown quail scholar Fidel Hernandez from the Caesar Kleberg Wildlife Research Institute in Kingsville.   Also, Rotarians have named internationally revered artist Kent Ullberg of Corpus Christi as their recipient of the Weil Living Legacy Award.

We commend Donald Trump for taking the time and effort to come to Laredo to begin to learn first-hand the realities that our members face on a daily basis. We are confident that the media attention to his visit will help the American people understand the failures of the federal government to fulfill its basic responsibility of securing our sovereign border and the magnitude of what the people of Texas have had to do to fill the huge void that has been left.
