A Message from Executive Director, Susan J. Kibbe

Dear Members,

As we begin the new year, I’d like to thank you for your support of STPRA. Our successes have been many, but with the ever-expanding population, and the challenges that that brings, we cannot sit back on our laurels.

We are ready to take on the issues that affect landowners and work to pass several bills in this new Texas legislature that began at noon yesterday. We will also be on the look out for bad pieces of legislation as well.

Several of the issues that are front and center currently are Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) in the whitetail deer population in Texas; improving the smuggling bill legislation that was passed last session; improving the notice time on eminent domain; plus, a couple of others that are being discussed.

Let us know if there is any legislation that you have an interest in so that we can include it on our list.

I would like to ask you if you would be willing to serve on one or more of our issues subcommittees. It is best if you have a particular interest or passion for that issue. We will meet quarterly, most of the time virtually, but I would like to have one or two of those meetings in person.

Please look over the subcommittee issues here, and let me know which one you’d like to serve on. Your participation can expand our successes and influence.
