Dear Members,
After the final tally, we were quite pleased with the results of our 17th Annual Meeting and Fundraiser! Everyone in attendance seems to have found something to enjoy about the afternoon and evening. While we were pleased with the overall success, your comments and suggestions provided us with some good ideas and feedback to be included in future meetings and gatherings. I would again like to thank everyone who sponsored the event, donated auction items, bought auction items, and gave of their time. We are truly grateful! We are now gearing up for the upcoming 88th Texas Legislature in Austin while preparing some new and interactive member events for 2023. The legislative session kicks off on Jan 10, 2023 and the STPRA-Austin team is planning for an active session. We fully anticipate working with our South Texas legislators to introduce at least one or two new pieces of legislation to further strengthen some hard-won landowner protections from previous sessions. But most importantly, your Austin team will be reviewing literally thousands of new bills that will be filed in the coming weeks and months to ensure that your property rights are respected at the State Capitol. Also, dust off those shotguns; one of the interactive events planned for next year is sporting clays. Stay tuned for dates and location. We welcome any help or support in this area as this is our first try at this. Please help make it a success! All of you know the importance of property rights; so please go vote in this election cycle for the candidate that best exemplifies our mission statement: The South Texans’ Property Rights Association (STPRA) educates the public and serves as a strong advocate for the rights of property owners to use, enjoy, and profit from the use of their lands as guaranteed by the Constitutions of the United States of America and the State of Texas. STPRA supports and actively participates in the resolution of various issues such as eminent domain, water rights, indemnity, government regulation, and trespassing.Until next month,
