Dear Members,
I’d like to wish you a very happy New Year! We are hopeful that 2022 will be a productive year in many ways. The Strategic Planning Committee will be deciding this week on which issues will take precedence this year. As you know, our number one issue “Border Security” is constantly in the headlines. Charles Maley is in the process of studying a possible strategy that will be shared with the board of directors at the end of this month. In addition, we will always be prepared to move swiftly if an unforeseen topic comes to light. I’d like to report that the South Texas counties that passed emergency declarations due to the federal governments lack of border security support, have received their requested grant monies. These monies will help combat border security issues on the local level. For Brooks County, that includes a communication tower. The tower will benefit law enforcement, emergency management, and will help landowners with better communication capabilities. Communication is the third leg of what STPRA has been asking for: Security, Property Compensation, and Communication Enhancement. As we start out the new year, I’d like to once again reach out to our members and ask if you would consider serving on one or two of our issues’ subcommittees. Please take a few moments to look over the attached list, and contact me if you’d like to serve on one. We are here to find solutions for issues facing South Texas landowners. Please do not hesitate to reach out to discuss your issue.Until next month,
